could be adsorbed to the surfaces of inorganic and organic materials. Further studies show that DOPA derivatives containing catechol groups also possess the strong adhesive property as DOPA shown. Polydopamine coating
as one kind of DOPA derivatives
has already been applied in many fields. Based on the above content
DOPA and its derivatives could be introduced into the design of polymer structure and make them like the secretion of marine mussels
which have applied in various fields. The exploration of the adhesion mechanism and the application in different fields of DOPA and its derivatives are reviewed in this paper.
